Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Makes Public Debut in Italy
The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports team has made its first public appearance ahead of the 2018 FIA Formula One Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
The team’s drivers, which include Dutch racer Allert van der Wal and brothers Salih and Sonuç Saltunç were on hand to meet fans and media at the F1 Festival in Milan on Wednesday before heading to the Formula One paddock on Thursday.
All three drivers had a chance to meet the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team drivers Charles Leclerc and Marcus Ericsson and discuss the forthcoming 2018 F1 eSports Series, as well as sign autographs and pose for photos with fans. They also met with international Formula One and automotive media in a press conference held at the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team’s hospitality.
The Swiss team, which has partnered with leading eSports organisation Veloce Esports, will attend the remainder of the Italian Grand Prix weekend as it continues to integrate further with the F1 paddock and the official Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team.

“It was pretty cool to be at the F1 Festival in Milan and see so many fans attending the Italian fans are incredible and create a great atmosphere. It was also awesome to chat with Charles and Marcus as well as watch them have a go on the F1 2018 game. We’ve swapped numbers now so we can arrange online race sessions with each other when we’re not competing. The race team kindly gave us a tour of the garage which was unreal, so thank you to them and Veloce for making all of this a wonderful experience.”
