F1 Academy Round 5 – Zandvoort

Hinwil, 3 September 2025 – KICK Sauber F1 Team driver, Emma Felbermayr, experienced a challenging but encouraging weekend as F1 Academy returned to action for its fifth round of the season in Zandvoort. The young Austrian continued to make progress and showed promising pace in mixed conditions around the demanding Dutch circuit.
In qualifying, Emma briefly set the pace in the early stages, but missing out on completing an additional lap on the damp but drying track in the closing moments saw her eventually securing tenth place on the grid. The KICK Sauber F1 Team driver fought her way to a points finish in Race 1 with a determined drive that saw her gaining a few positions on track. Race 2, on the other hand, ended in disappointment after a spin at Turn 10 dropped her to the back of the field, preventing another top ten result.
Despite a few setbacks, there were positives from the weekend, particularly when it came to qualifying and driving in different conditions. With Zandvoort now a closed chapter, the focus shifts now to Singapore, as Emma aims to carry this step forward into the next round of the championship at the end of the month.

“Overall, it was a pretty challenging weekend that already started in qualifying, even though we had showed good pace in both free practice sessions. I went in with confidence and we were one of the fastest early on, but due to some miscommunication, I couldn’t improve further and only ended up with P10. I managed to gain a couple of places in Race 1, and while Race 2 had started well, I made a mistake towards the end trying to get closer for an overtake and spun. That was rather hard to take in, but I still feel like I gave it everything. There are still positives to take with me to Singapore: I feel like I made another step forward this weekend, especially in the mixed and wet conditions, and I am looking to put these learnings into practice.”
