Hinwil, 1 July 2025 – Stake F1 Team KICK Sauber heads to Silverstone in good spirits after a solid double points finish in Austria, which showed the team’s steady progress through the midfield. Having achieved points finishes in the last three races, the focus is on building on the momentum of this positive run and maximising the potential of the latest update package to be introduced at this weekend’s British Grand Prix.

Estonia’s Paul Aron will be making his Free Practice debut with the team this upcoming Friday, taking over Nico Hulkenberg’s C45 for the first practice session of the day.

Team Quotes

Jonathan Wheatley, Team Principal: “Silverstone holds a special place for motorsport fans and for me personally, it’s where I saw my first F1 car in action. We’ve made some encouraging progress over the last few races with the hard work from everyone in the factory being matched with the execution from the team on track. But, with the field so incredibly tight this year, we have to stay focused and grounded.”

Nico Hulkenberg (car number 27): “Scoring double points in Austria was another good morale boost for the team and showed what we can do when everything comes together. We have been steadily moving forward, race by race, and the team’s hard work and dedication are starting to pay off on track, which is encouraging. There is still room to grow, but I am confident we can keep building on this progress as the season continues. I am looking forward to Silverstone now. A great classic including some very spectacular corners and a unique atmosphere on the grandstands.”

Gabriel Bortoleto (car number 5): “Scoring my first points last weekend was incredible – a result the team and I worked so hard for since the start of the season. But this is just the beginning. Now the focus shifts to Silverstone and finishing this double header the way we started it. We have to keep our heads down, keep working, and keep improving. We are also bringing some new parts, which I am looking forward to getting familiar with. It’s all about the small steps – that’s how we grow and stay in the fight in the midfield.”
