Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.  
  
Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.  
  
 The new team has three locations. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technical Center, UK will be operational this year. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

This position for the Audi F1 Project is at Sauber in Hinwil (Switzerland).

Your mission

  • Be an integral part of a team of engineers and data scientists to develop, create and improve software for efficient aerodynamic analysis
  • Design and implementation of web frontends and dashboards to present data from different sources, with a focus on CFD data
  • Contribute to the redesign and optimisation of the backend used to process and serve CFD data
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of efficient workflows for CFD post-processing
  • Help develop data science capabilities within the Aero department
  • Work closely with aerodynamic engineers to improve the ease of understanding complex data.
  • Contribute to set future directions and trends in data analysis and data visualization
  • Work on the look and feel of the user interface in terms of presentation and interaction with the data from a wide range of engineering data sources
  • Design and produce high performance and well-designed data access tools and APIs to be used by other existing systems
  • Design, code, test, release, and maintenance of data analysis applications
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and developments in software design and data science

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics
  • At least 3 years’ professional experience as software developer
  • Experience with data organisation and repository creation using appropriate database and file technologies
  • Worked on complex projects
  • Experience with scientific data visualization, especially 3D data, is an advantage
  • Experience with AI and Machine Learning is an advantage
  • Proven programming skills and a strong knowledge of Python
  • Familiarity with working in a Linux environment
  • Software release, update and deployment techniques
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies (e.g. Django, React, Next.js, WebGL, Node.js)
  • Fundamentals of VTK, ParaView or PyVista
  • Knowledge of containerized development and deployment (docker, Kubernetes an advantage)
  • Familiarity with HPC environment an advantage
  • Data science techniques and methodologies is an advantage
  • Analytical approach, hardworking, independent and reliable
  • Proactive interaction with leaders and colleagues and promote team spirit, while also being self-motivating, responsible and meticulous
  • Flexible and open to change
  • Promote a continuous learning culture within the team
